Biography:I'm a PhD student looking to build a strong skill set in statistical modeling, machine learning and optimization with a special focus the biomedical domain.
The focus of my research is on adapting and improving multitask learning algorithms (MTL) for computational biology. MTL is of interest, if there is an insufficient amount of training data for a particular problems, so the idea is to turn to related problems and take them into account when training a predictor.
In particular, I have explored how SVM-based algorithms can be extended to handle several tasks simultaneously.
